It has taken a while, but now you can play Dirty Split in Italian. If you don’t speak Italian you can still play it and improve your language skills, heh. As always you’ll find it on the download page.

It’s time to keep the promise: The Spanish version of Dirty Split is now available for download. All my gratitude goes to Jose for his great work and the effort he put into it despite a few obstacles.

It’s also time to announce an Italian version which is to be released soon. I’ll write more about that next time :o)

Branching out

Our future game projects have been in development for quite a while now – there will be more to see when the time is right of course. What’s very new is our foray into the world of animated short films. Here’s a quick taste of what you can expect in the near future:

The work on Dirty Split hasn’t finished either: Jose Antonio Velasco Prieto is very involved with the Spanish translation that will soon be available for download. Jose is also one of the developers behind ‘El Amuleto de Monkey Island’, a really promising fan sequel to – who would have guessed – Monkey Island.

Going Czech

As promised there’s a Czech version of Dirty Split available now. I’d like to thank Pavel Hejn again for his work, as well as Veronika from http://perlagroup.phorum.cz/, even though I’ll have to decline her offer to re-dub the game due to time restrictions. I’d also like to thank Marcel Feig from spiele-umsonst.de who is always quick at hand with a mirror.

Happy New Year

One of last year’s most important events to me was the release of Dirty Split, and I’d like to say thank you for all the nice words and comments and the great feedback. It’s still amazing how many people enjoyed this game, and I’m very happy that so many of them shared their reactions with me personally. The amount of positive feedback simply exceeded any of my expectations and set a clear direction for future games. The next projects have been in development for a whiile now, and soon there will be more about them here. For now let me say thanks to every one of you.

Thanks to the kind support of Marc Denizot there’s a little New Year’s surprise: Dirty Split is available in French now, so all of you Francophiles who’d prefer to play the game in their native language can do so now (see the download page). Very soon there will also be a Czech version thanks to Pavel Hejn and his wife.

And now: Good luck, and may all your wishes come true and may you stick to all your New Year’s resolutions :o)

Dirty Split in English

Good news for everyone: Dirty Split is now available in English, too! About a month after the release of the German version you English-speaking folks can finally enjoy Baxter’s adventures. And I do hope you’ll enjoy them, so have fun (and don’t forget to tell me about it!).

Once again, I’d like to thank everyone involved in this project, this time most importantly the English voice cast. You’ve all done a great job. And it was a pleasure working with each and every one of you :o)

Something for your ears

Two weeks after the release and several thousand downloads later I’m still overwhelmed by all the positive feedback to Dirty Split. I never expected such a fantastic response, and I’m really thrilled about every comment and every email. What puzzles me most is the fact that there hasn’t been a single negative reply so far, and that I’ve only received constructive criticism which I’m happy to read and think about. Many of you have been asking for a follow-up game, regardless of whether that will be a Dirty Split 2 or something entirely different. I’m really excited about this demand – and don’t worry, there’s something in the making already.

So I’d like to thank each and every one of you :o)

For everyone who liked the jazzy, loungy soundtrack from the game, here’s a special treat for you: On the download page you can find the entire album with 18 tracks from the game plus 3 bonus tracks. Completely free of charge, of course.

Learning by doing

While I’m waiting for the last few voice actors to send their lines in before the game is released, I find myself thinking about what my work on this game has taught me over the months. The two most important lessons are:

It’s a LOT of work
It CAN be done

If you have a specific vision in mind and see it come to life after a lot of hard work, that really gives you a rush. It’s small achievements and immediate results that keep you going, but the overall result is what makes you want to do more. And I find myself thinking about the next project already.

I’ve put up a “team” page to show you all the people who helped create this game for you. Give it a look, there are many precious gems of talent among all those nice souls. You might even find the professional help you need for your own projects :o)
